2024 Simplest Football Pool Rules, Guidelines and Requests
1. The 2024 Simplest Football Pool is now open to players from the 2023 season. New players can still play but only through a player from last season. This means entry fees and picks each week will come from the 2023 player. (See #10)
2. It’s a $10 entry fee per pick. This is a one-time payment and qualifies you for the entire NFL season (should you remain in contention).
3. Entry fees are due by Saturday, September 7th. However, our season starts Thursday, September 5th. Address is listed
below. Please include a contact number with your entry fee.
4. Pick ONE winner (per pick) from the NFL schedule each week. Simply identify the team(s) you feel will win and email me or your sub-commissioner that selection(s).
5. You must submit your pick(s) by the deadline posted on the website each week. Players that are part of a group should keep in mind that your
sub-commissioner may have a different deadline.
6. Recommendation: Make your selection(s) early in the week so you don’t forget. You can change your pick until the final deadline of that week.
If no selection has been made by that posted time you will be considered a “No Pick” and lose that pick. (See #9)
7. Your team must win to advance to the next week. A tie is considered a loss for our purposes. If you pick a team that is not playing (there are byes in the NFL) that is considered a loss. If you choose a team to win and that game is cancelled or postponed by the NFL after 8 PM Saturday, you must select two different winners the following week to retain that pick.
8. This pool is winner-take-all style. The last one standing collects the pot. In the event that more than one person completes the season and postseason without determining a winner, everyone alive will split the pot. In the event that all remaining picks fall in the same week, those
remaining players will split the pot. When the pool is down to a few individuals, collusion on a pick is forbidden.
9. Each week I will send you or your sub-commissioner a time stamped confirmation email showing that I received your pick(s) before the deadline. Please make sure you receive this email and keep it in a safe place. Then if you are listed as a “No Pick” just forward that email to
me and I will reinstate your pick. However, without this confirmation email your pick will be listed as a “No Pick”.
Important....check with me if you don’t receive your confirmation email.
10. Players and Sub-Commissioners: please email your picks (no spreadsheets or files) to me using the format below and include just your name, not the names in your group.
I will ask for the names of your survivors later in the season.
Example:
Joe Smith (32 picks)
Week 1
New England: 15
Baltimore: 10
N.Y. Giants: 4
Dallas: 3
11. Please use the team’s city name when turning in your picks, i.e., Dallas, Detroit, Chicago, etc. not their mascot name. For the New York and Los Angeles teams
use N.Y. Giants, N.Y. Jets, L.A. Rams and L.A. Chargers. This will help me with my spreadsheet entries. Thanks!
12. You may enter as many times as you want but all picks must be played in Week 1.
13. All deadlines are Arizona time.
